Differences: Foundation for Conflict...and
Creativity
Differences provide us with a constantly changing landscape of
opportunities to be creative. At the same time, differences can
cause positioning---formulating a view of difference that is attached
to holding on. Conflict typically occurs as an outcome of positioning,
and it is a part everyday life. What we do with conflict can make
a difference in how we experience our world, or work and our relationships.
The question of where individuals want to use their energy is a
matter of personal choice, but typically the resolution of conflict
can be a re-vitalizing force.
KLI has expertise in providing the avenue for the resolution of
specific conflicts while enhancing the skill level of those involved
at resolving the wide array of conflict scenarios that occur in
the workplace.
Ethics, Creativity and Good Will
Our approach to conflict resolution is called Strategic Resolution.
We have designed this process to be one where conflict resolution,
mediation and conflict coaching are along a continuum of creative
resolution strategies. The overall themes of Strategic Resolution
include an ethical approach to issues, creative generation of options
and “good will” as a force for positive change. Like
all of KLI’s work, we believe our process is both disciplined
and enabling.
Dialogue Essentials and Deliberate Intention
Shifting their mindset from adversarial to that of a collaborative
partnership, those engaged in Strategic Resolution will learn the
art and skill of dialogue. We approach the dialogue process as a
deliberate intention to improve relationships and generate better
solutions. As a key skill for today’s leaders, Dialogue Essentials
uses an authentic approach to personal power---balancing advocacy
with inquiry, and skills that can be learned.
